Acoustical Society Foundation Fund
Announcement
The Acoustical Society of America is pleased to announce that the merger of the Acoustical Society Foundation, Inc. into the Acoustical Society of America was approved by the Supreme Court of New York State in July 2009 and the merger has been completed. As part of the merger plan, the ASA has established the Acoustical Society Foundation Board, a standing committee of the Society, and the Acoustical Society Foundation Fund. The Acoustical Society Foundation Board will assume the fundraising responsibilities for the Acoustical Society of America.
The Acoustical Society Foundation Fund consists of the assets of the former Acoustical Society Foundation and the ASA's restricted and endowment funds. All of these funds support ASA's scholarships, grants, fellowships, and other special programs.
ASA is very grateful to its members and other contributors for their generous financial support and contributions over the years to both the ASA and the Foundation Fund. That support has enabled the ASA to provide a wide variety of scholarships, grants, fellowships, and other assistance to help hundreds of acousticians in the pursuit of their research and thereby advancing the field of acoustics. Your continued support is vital to these ongoing efforts.
Further announcements about the ASA's fundraising programs will be made after the first meeting of the Acoustical Society Foundation Board to be held in San Antonio, Texas in October.
Policy
All charitable contributions to the Acoustical Society Foundation Fund and planned giving instruments will be used to assist in funding innovative and ongoing programs of the Acoustical
Society of America. The Acoustical Society Foundation Fund is organized and operated exclusively
for charitable purposes, and all contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. Its exclusive purpose
is to raise funds on a worldwide basis and manage these funds diligently to support and enrich the programs of the Acoustical Society.
