The Acoustical Society of America is pleased to announce that the valuable resource, JASA on CD-ROM, has been enhanced by the addition of two CDs that contain a new and more powerful search engine, five additional years of JASA (1997–2001) and all the ARLO articles and the multimedia in JASA and ARLO.
Find papers you need quickly without having to look through printed indexes. Search articles (using Boolean criteria) by author, topic, keyword and more. Find thousands of articles on topics such as speech, hearing, animal bioacoustics, biomedical ultrasound, musical acoustics, underwater acoustics, physical acoustics and many others. Generate collections devoted to a particular area of acoustics or the work of an individual scientist. The new search engine allows full text searching (i.e., searching for words in the body of the entire article, including the abstract). It also searches for meeting abstracts, Letters to the Editor, and technical notes and works on both the original CDs as well as the new CDs. The 12-CD set contains the complete contents of each issue—literally from cover to cover.
The CDs can be used on a platforms such as Win95, Win98, WinNT, Win2000, MacOS8/ppc, Linux/x86, and others. Instructions and “Help” files are included. Help desk support is available daily via 800-phone number or by email.
