Chief Engineer-Acoustics & Vibrations

Chief Engineer - Acoustics & Vibrations Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. is a recognized world leader in commercial vehicle solutions for the global on-highway and off-road markets. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Chief Acoustics & Vibrations Engineer to work in our Research and Development group based at the corporate in office New Albany, Ohio.

Description- Noise and Vibration Testing and Analysis of Commercial Vehicle Products
  • Lead the development of CVG's next generation solutions for NVH.
  • Provide noise and vibration problem identification and solution(s).
  • Interface with customer regarding acoustics and vibration issues and concerns.
  • Lead the development of CVG's new acoustics laboratory.
  • Coordinate testing and development programs including production.
  • Optimize existing designs and products for improved acoustics and vibration performance.
  • Analyze and interpret acoustics and vibration test data as well as present to management and cross functional groups.
  • Identify, plan and conduct acoustics and vibration testing considering present and future needs of the organization.

    Position Requirements- Required
  • 8 - 15 years or more of relevant work experience preferably in the commercial vehicle or automotive industry.
  • High analytical ability for solving difficult or unusual problems.
  • Demonstrated understanding in acoustics and vibration instrumentation and processing equipment.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to assist in the development, assignment, prioritization and implementation of projects and programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently as well as work in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (must have a valid passport or be passport eligible)

    Position Requirements- Preferred
  • Proficient in computer applications such as MATLAB, LabView and/or FEA/SEA/BEM/SysNoise
  • Training in Mueller BBM, Bruel & Kjaer, LMS, and/or Head Acoustics analysis software.
  • Knowledge and experience regarding Aerodynamics and/or Thermodynamics.

    Educational Requirements- MS degree (PhD preferred) in Vibration and Acoustics Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering.
