Senior Acoustics Software Developer (C#, GUI / .Net)

The EG&G Division of URS Corporation is a leading provider of management and technical services to the U.S. government. Our staff of more than 13,000 employees provides program management, engineering and technical assistance, and operations and maintenance services to a variety of federal agencies and the Department of Defense. Currently, EG&G Technical Services, in support of the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, is seeking a Senior Level Software Developer to support the Environmental Measurement and Modeling division within a Federal Highway Administration Project.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team developing, documenting, testing, and implementing an application to analyze highway noise and barrier design based on an existing mathematical model.

This includes applying knowledge of Acoustics and Software design; GUI design, C#, .NET framework, object-orientated design, and graphics API's (OpenGL or DirectX.) to enhance and refine the application.
Requirements:
MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Science or Mathematics plus 6 years related experience - OR - BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Science or Mathematics plus 8 years related experience preferred.

Experience with Information System Architecture design, strong analytical skills and the ability to understand algorithms and scientific applications.

Hands-on development experience in C#,.NET, OOD.

Also required is some graphics/ API design and integration (OpenGL or DirectX) experience.

Knowledge of acoustics or vibrations theory, highway noise barrier technology, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is strongly preferred.

MUST be a U.S. Citizen or possess a Green Card (sponsorship not available) and must be clearable for a Public Trust position.
