Basic Qualifications:
A Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Acoustics.

3+ years industry experience in audio/acoustic product development.

3+ years experience with B&K acoustic test equipment required.

Department Description:
Mobile Devices, Companion Products (CP),Advanced Product Development (APD). Group is responsible for development of new technologies, architectures and standards for Companion Products that include Bluetooth voice & stereo, wired personal audio, In-Vehicle and charging technologies.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
This is an integral position in CP APD requiring an individual with rich audio/acoustics experience. Lead and direct product groups in audio/acoustic design for telephony and stereo applications. Utilize industry awareness to create roadmap to ensure best in class audio through identification and application of transducers and audio processing algorithms. Leverage and apply industry standards in determining specifications and test methods. In conjunction with Mobile Device CTO, construct accessory audio/acoustic architecture. Interface with phone development teams to ensure accessory compatibility. Collaborate with Product Management to determine feasibility of new products. Effect timely resolution of technical issues associated with new and existing products. Mentor junior engineers.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Knowledge of telephony audio standards highly preferred.

Knowledge of Sound Check and Matlab, preferred.

Acoustical modeling of speakers and acoustical systems related to cellphone and headset earpieces highly desirable.

Ability to access performance of audio DSP applications highly desirable.

Experience with micro-acoustics highly desirable.

Experience with Bluetooth desirable.

Familiarity with Motorola phone interface and Motorola product development process desirable.

Excellent team and communication skills.
