Principal Engineer/Scientist - Structural Acoustics
The United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) has an opportunity for a
Principal Engineer/Scientist with specialization and experience in
structural acoustics to join a multidisciplinary team focused on
innovation and partnering with United Technologies Corporation (UTC)
business units and leading worldwide institutions.
Qualifications:
The ideal addition to our talented team will hold a minimum M.S.
(preferably a PhD) in Acoustics or a related engineering field, with
expert theoretical, experimental and application knowledge of acoustics,
especially in structural acoustics modeling, experimental validation and
system-level design.
Experience:
The candidate must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary
team environment focused on innovation and be able to partner with
leading worldwide institutions (university, government, professional
organizations) to fulfill organizational objectives. The candidate will:
* be capable of interacting with UTRC senior management and of
simultaneously mentoring other individuals. The candidate must
demonstrate superior communication skills and be able to provide timely,
accurate and detailed reports and presentations.
* have demonstrated a thorough understanding of physics basis and
practical applications/limitations of structural acoustics
analytical/computational tools (SEA, BEA, FEA, EFEA, etc.).
* have demonstrated application of modeling and experimental
methods for source identification, prediction, and assessment of noise
and vibration, and detailed design of active and/or passive noise
control solutions.
United States citizenship or permanent residency status is required.
