Faculty Position in Visual Perception/Visual Cognition

The Department of Cognitive & Linguistic Sciences and the Department of Psychology invite applications for a tenured Full Professor position in visual perception and/or visual cognition, to begin in two years, on
July 1, 2011. Areas of interest include but are not limited to object and event perception, object and face recognition, layout perception and scene understanding, spatial cognition, orother aspects of high-level vision.
Applicants must have a prominent experimental research program and a broad teaching ability at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; strong interests in theoretical, neuroimaging, and/or computational approaches are
highly desirable.
Brown has a highly interdisciplinary research environment in the study of mind, brain, behavior, and language, including the multidepartmental Institute for Brain Science, and is establishing an integrated
Department of Cognitive, Linguistic, and Psychological Sciences in 2010. Plans to house the new department in a newly renovated, state-of–the-art building in the heart of campus are well under way.
