Description

This leader is accountable for penetrating and expanding volume and profitability by championing the New Business Development Process within current markets (automotive and appliance) as well as new markets for nonwoven materials. This talent will identify, evaluate and define key markets and trends which affect these industries and deliver growth to the OCA by satisfying unmet customer needs and delivering performance/product improvement opportunities for current customers and potential new customers. Lead and coordinate product development activities. Develop key relationships with customers and partners in conjunction with others in the organization to identify and drive several profitable growth projects. Develop and execute on customer driven solutions, supported by sound business cases. Lead and support the new business development process through each phase with full documentation and project tracking with timely and effective communication. A team player focused on winning with our customers and growing our people. Talent will work out of Granville, Ohio Science and Technology Center.

The position reports to: N/A Sales Leader - OCA/OCV

Responsibilities

1. Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.

2. Commercial Growth & New Business Development

  • Accountable to demonstrate knowledge in market applications where non-wovens can be used
  • Ability to develop and deliver actionable and qualified business opportunities to the business supported by sound business case
  • Team and partner with the manufacturing, S&T / Acoustics lab and be accountable to providing engineering support to coordinate customer trials / product development thru launch
  • Ensure customer needs are met; create customer fitness for use / maintain / adapt through product launch
  • Program / Project Management expertise
  • Develop, know and execute on multi-level strategic relationships required to specify, sell and approve
  • Demonstrate and communicate a strong applied knowledge of the OCA product line in customer applications and identify current and potential uses of OCA products
  • Identify opportunities and develop proposals that position OC for success
  • Identify opportunities for customer differentiation & develop joint programs that grow our customer and our business
  • Partner with OC teams as required ensuring product and service metrics are met
  • Contribute to strategic sales and business planning
  • 3. Excellence in Technical Service to our customers, current and new

  • Accountable for product launch from initiation to post launch 60 days
  • Fitness for use development - accountable to develop and maintain customer specifications / product data sheets
  • Service -preparing and managing sample requests process
  • Provide expertise and deliver solutions for our customers; satisfy the unmet need
  • Testing, evaluation and analysis of products and applications
  • Work with the plant and OCA resources to solve customer problems and opportunities
  • Strong Program / Project management
  • 4. Financial Knowledge

  • Demonstrate an understanding of business and financial metrics and performance expectations
  • Strong business acumen
  • Knowledge and understanding of impact of customer requirements in relation of the plant/operations and demonstrate leadership and influence to optimize the solution with the plant
  • 5. Leadership

  • Ensure OC values are demonstrated in every transaction, based on a clear understanding and execution of OC policies and procedures
  • Good judgment and follow up
  • Ability to effectively lead talent that may not directly report to them
  • Job Requirements

    Experience:

    1. Bachelor's degree engineering required / advanced degree preferred (B.S. / M.S.)
    2. Experience managing customers and strategic relationships
    3. Certified PMP Preferred
    4. Demonstrated experience in program/project management / leading teams of sales, technical and operational talent
    5. Non-Wovens product knowledge
    6. Technically proficient in acoustic materials, science and/or testing

    Knowledge and Abilities:

    1. Clear understanding and the ability to articulate technical concepts and applications - specifically how polymers are used and developed in customer applications - applied technical knowledge
    2. Customer savvy and with strong business understanding
    3. Experience developing growth strategies and executing
    4. Detailed and organized
    5. Ability to lead teams and grow talent
