SH Acoustics is seeking an entry-level acoustical consultant with 0-3 years of experience for a position in a unique acoustic and audio consulting firm specializing in museum & exhibit-based venues, high-end residential projects and a wide variety of other commercial spaces. The successful candidate should have an undergraduate degree and be highly motivated to learn and grow in some very exciting areas of acoustic and audio design. Excellent written/oral communication and project management/presentation skills are essential. Candidate must possess strong computer experience including, AutoCAD, MS Office, Internet/WWW research. Some knowledge and experience in basic audio systems design is desirable. An interest in live music and high-end audio is important. Opportunities for growth with the firm are strong.

Responsibilities will include

  • Room acoustic analysis and modeling of a wide variety of spaces.

  • Preparation of acoustical treatment layouts.

  • Sound isolation and noise control analysis, calculations and design documentation

  • Preparation of recommendations memos, reports and other documentation

  • Attendance at design meetings and site inspections worldwide

  • In-lab and in-field acoustic and audio measurements

  • Setup and execution of audio simulations and demonstrations

  • Optimization of high-end home theater and home concert audio systems
