This Announcement and Call for Papers contains information important to this meeting. There are three timely points of information of which you should be especially aware:
1. Proceedings containing two-page manuscripts of each paper will be published for this meeting. A 200-word abstract must be submitted first, and THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF 200-WORD ABSTRACTS IS 20 OCTOBER 1997. THIS DEADLINE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. Authors have the option of submitting abstracts via the World Wide Web, by e-mail or by postal mail in paper-copy format.
Two-page manuscripts must be submitted for each paper to be presented at the meeting and for publication in the proceedings. If a manuscript is not submitted by 16 February 1998, the abstract will not be scheduled for presentation nor will it be published in the meeting program.
2. Preregistration is required for all first authors of each abstract. The preregistration fee must be sent with the two-page manuscripts which are due by 16 February 1998. Multiple first-author papers are permitted, but a $35 fee for each additional paper is required. Other attendees are encouraged to preregister. Reduced registration fees are available to those who preregister by 16 March 1998.
3. Hotel accommodations at special ICA/ASA rates are available until 22 May (Sheraton) and 30 May (Westin). Since this meeting is expected to be well attended, and June is tourist season in Seattle, you are encouraged to make travel arrangements and room reservations early.
