Underwater Acoustics
Scope
Concerned with sound wave phenomena in the underwater medium and the seabed,
with primary emphasis on:
- Propagation - steady state and transient solutions of the wave
equation, boundary effects, and seismoacoustics
- Scattering and reverberation
- Ambient noise - sources, spectrum, directionality, fluctuations
- Signal processing - detection of signals in noise, statistical
analysis
